The 2nd and 3rd April, 2019, the 3rd PERASPERA workshop “Plan the European Roadmap and its Activities for Space Exploitation of Robotics and Autonomy“ was held at BOZAR, the Palais des Beaux-Arts, in Brussels (Belgium).
The workshop was organized as a consultation event bringing together members of the institutions, industry and academy to discuss the next phase of the Space Robotics Technology roadmap, the preparation of the space robotics activities in the next Horizon Europe frame-program, and the future of the on-orbit servicing activities at European level.
During the first day of the workshop, the members of the Strategic Research Cluster (SRC) on Space Robotics Technologies presented the results of the activities of the first call (2016-2019) call, and the status and perspectives of the projects recently launched within the second call (2019-2021).
GMV presented the ADE project, detailing the project plans, technical objectives and current status, in two separate sessions. The first one was a closed session for coordination among the SRC members, and the second was an open session in which the objectives of the project were presented to a wide audience of stakeholders from industry, academia and European institutions.
The representatives of GMV also participated in several discussion panels on the exploitation and impact of the SRC products and the potential for AI in future space robotics activities.
The outcome of this 3rd PERASPERA will shape the next stages of the roadmap for space robotics in Europe, which shall combine the heritage of the developments from the SRC, the short and long term perspectives for on-orbit and planetary robotic operations, and the synergies with terrestrial robotics innovations and developments.
